It’s finally time to get outside, celebrate and cultivate our Homes & Gardens! We proudly present this annual edition with our trusted recommendations, practical advice and inspiring stories to conjure up your passion to roll up your sleeves and get into project mode! DIY what you wish and/or we are so happy to connect you with the impressive list of professionals found here on page two, with their respective ads throughout this edition. Call me personally if you need further direction. These experts truly represent the sort of hard work, ingenuity and beautiful fabric that we know so well in our community.
The entire home improvement industry — from construction and renovations to lawn care and gardens — is a prime example of Chautauqua County’s small business community at its best. Look no further than this edition of the Gazette. We are so proud to feature and wholeheartedly recommend over FORTY (!!!) different LOCAL contractors and retailers that stand ready to share their talents with you!
I know it’s sometimes a challenge — and I’m certainly not throwing stones in my own “glass house” — but this week is such a testament as to how we can work together as a community to support local businesses as much as possible. Consider the value of your smaller mom and pop shops and neighborhood experts for your home and garden needs this season, and remember the critical role that these small businesses play in sustaining our local economy.
Our community newspaper is case and point. We appreciate this chance to feature home and garden-related businesses, not only to recognize them for the high-quality home improvements they provide, but to highlight them as the contributing community leaders that they are. As Chautauqua County’s only free weekly newspaper, we rely upon, and are truly grateful for, the support of our generous business partners. Their support, for and confidence in, our community’s weekly newspaper helps ensure local journalism remains strong and that you may keep reading!
Together, we can all do our part to continue to help make Chautauqua County a great place to live, work and do business…and get our home and garden improvements done well this season!
