Breast Cancer Awareness

This edition, we are grateful to partner with the WCA Foundation in honor of October’s upcoming Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Our hats off to this laudable Foundation and so many others in our community dedicated toward prevention.

Whether you have a personal connection to breast cancer or not, the high rate of incidence in Western New York warrants our full attention and pause. Thank you for joining us in honoring the courageous women (and men!) who have battled — or are currently battling — this life-changing challenge.

As I entered my friend Kim Carlson’s beautiful store “Pea Pod & Juniper” last week, her wall-hanging popped right out in my periphery and into my editorial heart for this edition. I don’t think there could be more perfect words to describe our collective perception of life and perhaps give encouragement to those like the beautiful women brave enough to share their stories and the incredible network of community supporters all proudly featured here within.
