Cassadaga In Between

My absolute favorite part about owning this newspaper — besides being my own boss and the “do or die” flexibility that comes with that (haha!) — is the unique chance for community engagement. Connecting with local leaders, organizational gurus, dedicated small business owners and interesting people in every corner of our lovely county is my personal passion.

And there is no better opportunity for the Chautauqua Gazette to truly experience a community firsthand than to publish a comprehensive and fabulous (if I do say so myself!) Community Showcase edition. It is then our great privilege to put our passion in print and to share it with you!

Over the last two years, we have proudly published more than a dozen special editions in our “Community Showcase Series” — delving into local history, current development, community projects and events. We have had the honor of personally meeting hundreds of small business owners — entrusting their confidence in our marketing partnership and joining together in shared commitment to our community. We approach, dive in and work hard to tell each community’s story for the rest of our county residents to enjoy and appreciate.

This week, we are particularly thrilled to showcase Cassadaga... and I know I say this every time, but truly, I was impressed with all that is moving and shaking in this Route 60 village located in between Dunkirk and Jamestown. We have all passed through a million times. For most destinations in Chautauqua County, you can’t get from end to end without Cassadaga in between.

The “in between.”

It’s a reference to a comparably insignificant geographical point between one’s preferred placement and another. However, this term is in no way appropriate for our beloved Cassadaga — as our firsthand showcase this week will attest!

This edition, we challenge you to stop the next time you’re “in between,” or even better, make Cassadaga your final destination. Check out our cover stories and some very special articles within to understand just why. Learn how exceptional this community really is. Visit one or all three of Cassadaga’s lakes, grab an ice cream at King Cone or a delightful coffee at 3 Lakes Cafe. There is so much to love in this small community with big opportunities — you just have to stop in between and see it!

We’re changing standard context. In our county, the “in between” is actually one of the best places to be.
