We are very proud to continue our Community Showcase Series with the bustling Town of Clymer. Bustling? Did I say bustling? With a population of less than 1,800 according to the 2020 Census, you may wonder why I’d jump to that word-choice.

Clymer, one of Chautauqua County’s most picturesque rural towns, is also a thriving economic engine. We have proudly done more than a dozen showcase editions at this point, and I have to say, the sheer magnitude of Clymer’s business community overwhelmed and impressed me.

One need only look to the rolling hills of the plentiful farmland to understand why agriculture is still our county’s number one industry and why agri-business abounds with such visible strength in this special southwestern corner. Its town center is also a bustling display of small business ingenuity with beloved staples such as Dutch Village and Neckers Company General Store to up-and-comer superstars like Sweeterson Farms and Twin Flame Coffee.

From historic homes to custom-crafted new construction, it’s no wonder Clymer also represents one of our county’s fastest growing tax bases. The Clymer community has the largest number of strong and contributing Amish entrepreneurs in the region as well. Combined with its unique Dutch heritage, Clymer features a rich culture like nowhere else.

And speaking of Dutch Heritage, Clymer is home to one of our region’s most beloved biennial festivals: The Clymer Tulip Festival! We purposely saved this community showcase for this special weekend and an experience that only comes around every 730 days. We highly recommend this town, this festival, and this distant dreamland that stays close in our hearts!

Clymer is so worth the trek and your time. Check it out!
