Two new local businesses in Clymer, NY, are bringing joy to foodies and coffee lovers in the town.
Sisters Anna Heiser and Makenna Woods have long dreamed about enjoying specialty coffee locally and have since been working to make it happen. Twin Flame, a coffee truck located at 8734 E Main Street, is that dream come to life.
“Twin Flame started as a dream of mine and my sister’s about 3 years ago. We both love coffee and didn’t like that there wasn’t any place nearby to get coffee, besides plain black coffee,” Heiser said. “We would regularly travel to Corry, Union City, Lakewood and Erie, but not everyone wants to or can travel to get coffee. We both have a lot of friends in the area who agreed there was a lack of options right here in Clymer!”
Heiser said there wasn’t an opportunity to move into an existing space, but a small piece of land went up for tax auction in the summer of 2025. They bought it, found an old camping trailer to renovate, and timed the opening to follow Makenna’s graduation from college this May.
Being located in Clymer is an important part of their business, Heiser said. She and her sister love the town and knew they wanted to start their business there. “And, everyone deserves good coffee,” she added.
Heiser said she loves connecting with local residents on another level. While she currently works at the local hardware store and can connect with customers in that way, she said she enjoys the engagement and conversation they have when she is serving them their favorite coffee beverages. “I love to meet people in a more casual way,” she said. “We hope to integrate into people’s routines and really get to know what people are looking for.”
“Since we are brand new, a lot of people definitely haven’t visited us yet. I would like people to know that we are here to make your new favorite drink! We know coffee preferences vary from person to person, so we want to make sure you get the drink you want. We do not upcharge for alternative milks like oat, almond or coconut because people shouldn’t have to pay more for intolerances or milk preferences.”
The trailer offers both a walk-up window and a drive-through. With the return of Spring, Heiser said they’ve drawn inspiration from the season for fun drinks like the Cake Batter Latte, Chocolate Pistachio Latte and the Blackberry Matcha. Twin Flame will be open during May from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday through Saturday and on Memorial Day, with extended summer hours coming in June.
Sweeterson Farms, a curated kitchen boutique that specializes in kitchen gadgets, utensils, sustainable items including handmade beeswax wraps, and gifts, has moved from an online reality to an in-person storefront in Clymer.
“We began in 2023 online with 30 items and have expanded throughout the three years to pop-ups, vendor shows and now our brick and mortar store on Main Street with over 500 items,” said co-owner Carrie Swanson.
The business is family-owned by Carrie, her husband, Levi Swanson, and their two daughters, Diana and Phoebe. The name Sweeterson Farms is a combination of Carrie and her husband’s last names: Swanson and Peterson. “We combined the two together to create Sweeterson,” Carrie said. “The Farms comes from both of our backgrounds growing up on dairy farms.”
“We believe in the simple joys of life, the warmth of a home-cooked meal, the delight of hosting gatherings with loved ones, the beauty of a small-town community, and the love shared around a dining table. Our kitchen boutique is our way of sharing these joys with you,” she said.
The shop offers a variety of kitchen goods that the Swansons picked out especially for the shop. “Some of our favorites are the blue whale butter dish, croc chop, stamped bowls, handmade beeswax wraps and a wide variety of entertaining items,” she said. “Our variety of goods are colorful, fun and functional and typically we bring in mid and high-end kitchen wares.”
Another important highlight of the shop is its focus on sustainability. Sweeterson Farms offers plastic-free kitchen utensils and other goods, as well as beeswax wraps and bags made by Carrie using 100% cotton, beeswax, pine resin and jojoba oil — a great alternative to plastic wrap.
Carrie said one of the best parts of owning a business in Clymer is helping customers find that perfect gift or perfect something for their house. “Seeing them come back in is great!” She and Levi will also be hosting the Clymer Harvest Market on September 12 — “a once-a-year festival” that brings together local businesses, non-profits and more at the Clymer Town Park.
Sweeterson Farms is located at 8723 E Main Street in Clymer and is open Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information, visit www.sweetersonfarms.com. The store also offers local pickup and shipping on all online orders.
