Family Owned to Franchise, CHQ Chamber Celebrates Business Growth

Last week the CHQ Chamber hosted a series of ribbon cuttings, welcoming in new businesses, celebrating an anniversary, and highlighting the passing of a torch from one generation to the next. Whether it is a family owned business, or a franchise, the CHQ Chamber is excited to see and celebrate the business growth in our county.

On Wednesday, June 30th, Trattoria Partenope celebrated its grand opening in Bemus Point. Trattoria Partenope originally opened in Ellicottville, this is now their second location. On July 1st, we ended a marathon day of ribbon-cuttings at The Tap Room in Westfield. This occasion saw the third generation of ownership officially take over a long-standing business in the Village of Westfield.

July 1st marked the beginning of Jersey Mike’s Subs in Lakewood, and the one year anniversary of Fire House Subs in Fredonia. Both of these franchises are already looking to expand into different areas of Chautauqua County.

Part of the mission of the CHQ Chamber is to champion local businesses in Chautauqua County. That means all businesses in Chautauqua County, large and small. Locally-owned, regionally-based, even international corporations.

While we work to provide a larger spotlight for those small businesses who need it most, we also recognize that when a large chain business comes to town, they’re coming to town for a reason. The deeper pockets of these organizations allow for incredibly deep market research and recognize that Chautauqua County is showing growth. Often a local franchisee, they want to be a part of that growth and invest in our community, employing a larger number of our residents, and continued brick and mortar growth on our main streets.

Our family-owned businesses in Chautauqua County provide the heart and character of what makes this community special. The franchises coming to town see that heart and character and want to be a part of it too.
